OpenText Technical Consultant

In this role, the OpenText Technical Consultant will apply business & technical skills, as well as consulting methodologies, to collect and analyze information to design, configure and implement OpenText solutions based on unique customer requirements.  This position is focused on Enterprise accounts with an emphasis on the OpenText Content Suite product line.

This role works closely with customers and other RDS Consultants in the delivery of OpenText engagements, as well as with the Account Executives, Solution Consultants and Strategic Partners throughout the sales and delivery cycles.

  • Delivering Professional Services engagements with confidence and high quality.

  • Demonstrating technical leadership with OpenText’s Content Server software, specifically focusing on Content Server xECM platform, Community, Information & Security (CIS) Modeling, Records Management, Workflow and Reporting.

  • Installation and system sizing are not responsibilities of this role, but knowledge in these areas is considered nice to have.

  • Effectively communicating through excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Understanding and translating customer business requirements into a solution that best utilizes OpenText product functionality.

  • Leading and/or contributing to the development of a solution design and/or strategic deployment roadmap.

  • Working in conjunction with RDS colleagues to implement technical configurations.

  • Contributing to project documentation, including, but not limited to requirements document, functional design, test plans, and knowledge transfer documentation.

  • Participating on multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Delivering presentations, workshops, and live demonstrations to a mixed audience of technical, business, and management staff.

  • Demonstrating strong customer-facing skills by building and maintaining positive customer relationships and translating them into long term benefits for both companies.

  • Mentoring junior consultants on solutions, technology, and delivery of OpenText Content projects.

  • Preparing, maintaining, and submitting weekly activity/progress reports and time recording reports in accordance with published procedures.

  • Interacting with sales, services, and partners to scope project efforts, create estimates and respond to RFPs.


Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • The candidate should have 8+ years of professional experience in implementing medium to complex ECM solutions.

  • Competency with OpenText Content Server, Open Text Records Management, OpenText Connected Workspaces, OpenText Workflow and OpenText Web Reports.

  • Highly professional team player with the ability to work independently, while being part of a dynamic team.

  • Knowledge and understanding of on-premises and cloud enterprise software deployments.

  • A solid grasp of a variety of technologies that include development languages, tools, web-based technology that could be involved in an OpenText solution.

  • Strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Adhere to OpenText’s internal standards and best practices for consistent, high-quality project delivery.

  • Light travel might be required of this position.

  • This is a revenue-generating position.

  • Location: United States

OpenText Documentum experience is not required but would be valued.
